Pat Reed was born in 1928 and entered College in 1940, first as a day girl and later, following the death of her mother, as a boarder in Glenlee. She went to Girton College, Cambridge, where she gained a degree in History. Following her first marriage in 1951 to James Hodgson she did a lot of research at the Hulton Picture Library which resulted in two books, The Early War Artists and the Early War Photographs, which were published by Osprey. She was also commissioned by Ladybird for several educational books.
Pat lived in Richmond, Surrey and married her second husband Dr Robert Lindon in 1980. All her life she enjoyed Art, and in later years spent a lot of time painting, often in Kew Gardens.
She died on 4th August 2007, followed a protracted illness, in the Princess Alice Hospice in Esher.
