Dr Melanie Juanita Pask PhD

In College 1974-81 Bayshill


Having left College, Melanie gained a 1st Class Honours Degree at Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London in Pure and Applied Biology in 1985, and was awarded the June Mahon Prize for excellence in Parisitology.  Melanie continued at Imperial on receiving a Science and Engineering Research Scholarship from the World Health Organization to research Malaria Transmission and awarded her Ph.D in 1989.

 

Subsequently, she went to work for the National Rivers Authority and on creation of the Environmental Agency she progressed to be a Water Quality Technical Specialist.

 

Melanie married Nick Purdon in 1999.

 

We were sorry to hear of her death in April this year.
