The Bellis Society: leaving a legacy to College

Membership of the Bellis Society continues to flourish.  Currently numbering sixty, members enjoy an annual lunch with CLC leaders and are invited to key College events during the year.  We celebrate our members' continued loyalty and appreciate their involvement in CLC today.  Bellis is made up of former pupils and staff, but is open to parents and friends alike.  To join, and for further information, click here

The Bellis Society Annual Lunch

On Wednesday 20 September 2006 we were delighted to welcome 18 members of the Bellis Society for an annual lunch held in the Council Room.

Ann Eldridge, Chairman of the Society, welcomed members to the lunch, the second of its kind, and Marjorie Crossley, who turns 90 this Autumn, was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers by Vicky Tuck.

Jenny Tudge thanked the group for attending and for their support. She reported that the Bellis Society was going from strength to strength with its membership of 62, and that they were all welcome to attend the exciting events planned for the coming months, including a dinner to celebrate the achievements of Dorothea Beale.

After the lunch the group were treated to an exclusive viewing of the new Organ in the Princess Hall, which was played by organist Roy Raby. He played some organ classics such as the Toccata from Widor’s Fifth Symphony, Mendelssohn’s Wedding March and Jerusalem, and shared his passion for this magnificent instrument by answering various questions from the group.

We look forward to the next Bellis Society social event – a Christmas drinks reception held at Cotswold House before the Christmas Concert on Friday 15 December. We should like to thank all members of the Society for their continued support for College.
