Chairman of Guild
Katie Robyns (Etchells, 1974-1981, Glenlee)
I left college in 1981, qualified as a barrister and spent ten years in International Corporate Finance. Marrying a Belgian I held high hopes of travel and the family spent nearly five amazing years in New York where I concentrated on bringing up our boys. On returning to London we started our own business, mainly advisory work and property investments. My role is part time, if such a thing is possible with a family business! Collecting art, involvement with the Princes' Trust and now with Guild gives life a good balance. I wish to keep Guild relevant to its members and look forward to meeting many Guild members at events in the future.
Vice Chairman
Maggie Henderson-Tew (Tew, 1971-1976, St Margaret’s)
My background is that I have been a headhunter in financial services for well over twenty years and have worked in Asia and in London. My time in Hong Kong has given me the opportunity to work with Guild members, past and current parents and pupils there. Although UK-based now, I look forward very much to visits and events in Hong Kong, Tokyo, elsewhere in Asia, during my visits to the region in the future, and wherever else there are Guild members. The global network that exists in Guild is enormously important to me and this source of rich experience and diversity is of great benefit to us all. I want to reach out to our members wherever they may live and for Guild to be as inclusive as possible in everything we do.
I trained in Human Resources management after completing my degree in English and spending time working with a theatrical family in London. Alongside my headhunting career, I am continuing my studies on a part-time basis at Oxford University and am tremendously enjoying a return to academic work (and exams!) after a gap of nearly 30 years.
