2005 Leavers' Ball

Everyone remembers their school’s leavers’ ball: the excitement, the rush to the end of term, exams, school, the enormous preparation, and then the strength of the emotions which make you forget it all, apart from the knowledge that it was a fantastic night.

This year College held “The Tsarina’s Ball”, full of magic and mystery.  On a calm summer evening the inside of CLC was taken back to a world of snow, fountains and paintings, and the PH turned into a magical area of stars and fabrics.

The theme was reflected in the garden marquee where large candelabra and golden chairs filled the area. Dinner was fun; a lively atmosphere was enhanced by the jazz band playing by the entrance and the splendid food (especially the white-chocolate fountain and piles of fresh fruit!). Dinner concluded with a fantastic fireworks display outside the PH, and a night of dancing to Top Catz and a DJ, and the school band, Day Job, made up of male teachers who played as enthusiastically as ever on the stage of the PH.  The casino in the GCR proved very popular, with people thoroughly enjoying themselves.  During the course of the evening raffle tickets sold in aid of the Philippine Trust raised a total of £1600.
